This was a revelation. Because for some reason, I've always been able to walk the length of a jam-packed sale rack and spot the one or two good pieces crammed in with the schlock. I've never known why, but now I figure maybe I have an eye for fabric. Who knew?

Interesting, Andrea. Fabric quality almost certainly has something to do with why good pieces stand out to you. Or maybe you grew up around someone who wore nicer clothes?

Yes, that must be it. My mother bought good quality clothes that weren't tied to trends, and that have lasted forever. Most of it's not my taste, but I appreciate the approach.
